Aliens without soul
I don't mind if politicians choose to communicate in English, or any other languages given appropriate surroundings.

I, too, struggled very hard for life to be seen as someone who able to speaks English. Really, despite of the fact that my vocabulary is minimal and grammar is slightly better than 3rd grade school kid in national schools.

Well, I don't care. Given the whole world population of 6.5 billions at present, I can safely bet that my ability in english speaking category is probably in the rank of 3.5 billionth. Looking this way, it is not bad at all.

But I definitely will NOT vote for any Malaysian politicians that unable to fairly converse in Bahasa, or who don't speak well in Bahasa - no matter how good and genius they are.

They are all look stupid to me. Like aliens. Or ogres or vikings that simply do not have empathy toward their preys. They are full with arrogant souls, and fail disguise themselves properly as it should be.

You can call me racist if you may. Blame me for being racist here. After all Malaysia’s politics is about racist. Every political parties in Malaysia are racist to some extend.

Go anywhere on earth, and the same racist sentiment are there to be found. Go to USA or UK for example; try to be a politician there without using English as mean of communication.

Or for the benefit of doubt, try to be a politician in China politics or India without the urge to speak in Chinese or Hindi, see whether your political career will take off.

This is not about “Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa” and I am not a linguist myself. Common sense is all it takes to understand the issue. "Broken" bahasa is just what it needs to start with.

Politicians who don't speak Bahasa don't respect us Malaysians, and therefore, do not deserved our respect as well.

Politics is all about power. To get the power you have to communicate with others. Therefore, you are bound to give and take. In short, you can have all power you need from people, but you need to learn their language to be fair with.

Even notorious villains of the past care to understand local languages, such as Mongols when they roamed in more than 22% of earth total land area long time ago.

Xing dynasty of China came a long way from Manchuria and ruled China as the last dynasty for four centuries, and they communicate with Chinese in Mandarin.

Japanese too, when they rule Malaya and Borneo in 1940s. Despite the fact that they thought Japanese language to the locals, they learned Malay language as well.

Bahasa is not difficult to start with. Until 1950 in all major ports of Asia as far as Port Said in northeastern Egypt used Bahasa as lingua franca. It is so simple that it can take any form at all, without tenses, with or without grammar.

So simple that "bahasa pasar" and "rojak" is somewhat acceptable in the society. Malays in Peninsular Malaysia who always claim to be the champion of Malay people, spoke Bahasa very badly.

They love to creole like no other, to "rojak" it with as much English words as possible, and I think they will die if not doing it while communicating to each other.

"Aku" has long gone, replaced by "I", "Engkau" had vanished for "U".

Those who not favor for "I" and "U" opt for alternative, that is, "ene" and "ente".

But it is still Bahasa, at least in spirit of it, to me. We should treat them differently from those alien politicians that don't care about Bahasa at all.

For these politicians, please get yourself a personal tutor if you want to stay in Malaysia's politics.
