Book 2: The Mystic of Borneo, by Amde Sidik

This is one of the latest published books by our columnist, Amde Sidek. This article is not a review, but rather to express our support to him, or to be honest, to promote his book. Any Kadayan writers who come up with any books, or writeup deserve space in KadayanUniverse.Com frontpage.

This book is an anecdote rather than history of Kadayan's ethnic. A close knitted ethnic living side by side with other ethnics in the mainland of Borneo. It history tells us very little about them but earlier observers said they are the same people found in town that the Kingdom had to rely upon.

"... over four centuries... industrious, able. and peaceful farmers of the coastal lowlands..." Tom Harisson. "... once Kadayan cut off supplies of foods, threatened to attack the town, the sultan widow released the prisoners" St John Spencer, 1863

Amde concludes all these people are of the same root no matter how noble they are now or were slaves hundreds years ago.

Kadayan is an enchanted ethnic full with mysteries for centuries, find any bomoh in Borneo... to be effective bomoh he or she must be Kadayan.

Tough timid, aloof, or repulsive at times, they helped established the Kingdom of Borneo into the present time...
