Tan Sri Ong Kah Ting today “regretfully” announce the MCA acceptance of Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Leck resignation as Vice President of MCA. Datuk Seri Dr Chua is also resigned as Federal Health Ministry and Labis Member of Parliament – MP on immediate effect (Buletin Utama TV3 2 Jan 2008). The resignation was due to a suspected video sex scandal that is widely circulated and highlighted in national newspapers.
I have not watch the said video, and I am not interested to watch it either. With due respect, if I wanna watch movie of this kind, I'll pick on those with more attractive actors / actresses than a middle aged man in the shape of a bowling pin.
As far as the resignation announcement is concern, you can find it here
I am not good in English. But a friend of mine assures that English is the best choice if you want to curse someone. I disagree till this day. I think kadayan language is better. I mean, where else can you find a complete sentence contain non other words than just curse, only curse, such as “bangkai bauta sampaa tabak mandau”. No prefix, no suffix, no tenses, no nothing in this sentence, except curse. But it is a complete sentence on its own and grammatically right in our language. Believe me, dare to say this to any kadayan and if you lucky, he will punch you straight away.
Resignation due to scandal / abuse of power albeit isn't new in our country, they are scarce. You can count them easily with your fingers. Tan Sri Rahim Thamby Chik was one of those. Datuk Osu Sukam wasn't. Several federal minister misconduct / power abuse / bribery cases were exposed in the recent past, but they choose to stay in power till today.
I am not a lawyer, and you won't believe it even if I say so, as my English is terrible. But under Malaysian law, Datuk Seri Chua is still innocent until he is convicted / proven guilty in the court of law.
His decision to resign is something respectful. But while it is something that deserves respect, he should not blasted out and spoke on moral judgment of Malaysian on media during the press release. I think he is slightly blown out of proportion by saying that.
According to him “... Malaysian is holier- than- thou attitude”. Alamak, jangan lepas geram la datuk.
But he is right. Honestly. In Malaysia or probably anywhere on earth, that is what we call as “the fact of life”, “ a decent hypocrisy”, if there is any such term in English. Moral and religion aside, its mean, you can do whatever you like.
For example, if you are a Muslim, you can consume alcoholic drinks as much as your belly can coup with, and drive at the same time. But you got to be smart, don't get caught or you will be in trouble. Or, you can skip all daily prayers, but generally it is better for you to go to perform Friday prayer in the neighborhood mosque once in a while.
More examples.
Out of ten, tell me, how many of men who never cheat their wife, and never see other women?
Or lets look at this extreme, pardon me for saying this. Do you think, a Christian father, or a Muslim imam, a Buddhist sami never, never masturbate at all in their lifetime – I don't think so. But this is their private life isn't it. And whatever they do in private won't stop them from gracefully performing official duty.
I sincerely hope you don't focus on the above abrupt examples. The reality is that, everyone of us wear at least two masks; one for public, and the other for private life. Take a great care of your public mask, watch your back, and zealously guard your secret. Once broken, you are a dead meat, your are finish.
