Hindraf: The Aftermath

Hindraf is DEAD by now. Face it. Those “five stooges” are almost all of the masterminds behind the whole episode. It just them who all out promoting Hindraf ideas, and they are inside Kamunting Cell by now. Two years from now, they will reappear in national telecast, saying how their misdeed past was so regretfull.

No, I am not against the Indian. I have some good Indian friends too. Even my neighbor is an Indian couple. The husband works as a police officer in my home town.

However, the only thing I am being assertive to Hindraf idea is about freedom of speech. That is it. I support demonstration as part of democracy system, whether Malaysian society is mature or not. Trust me, demonstration is part of freedom of speech, and on the other hand, freedom of speech is the core of democracy. What I do not condone is brutality, be in the form of the police brutality, or demonstrators brutality.

In the name of freedom of speech, claim whatever you want to in this world.

Jews claim ownership over Palestine because according to them, their ancestral (Canaanites) was the earliest settlers in the area.

Chinese and Korean for example, still struggling with their claim toward Japanese over “sex slave” misconduct during World War II.

The Philipines maintain that it sovereignty covers the northern part of Borneo Island, the present day Sabah.

Hindraf claims trillion dollars from British, citing the latter as the cause of their misery in Malaysia.

Indigenous and Malays can claim too if they want. They can claim that British and immigrants marginalize their ownership on the present Malaysian soil. Should British never brought in immigrants from oversea, disgruntles over Malay Special Rights, New Economic Policy will never arise in our time. I think 4 - 10 trillion dollars sue is enough.

But of course, to claim and to get what your claim are two different things.

Many of the “freedom fighters” never fail to quote ISA as their source of misery when come to freedom of speech. ISA is a draconian law, according to them, despite the fact that “the most civilized country on earth”, USA is also enforcing tougher law that bear resemblance to ISA after 11 September 2001 – 911 incidence.

But ISA is necessary for Malaysia. You may cry foul over this statement, But I don't see any rationale for a lame government to exist, a government that can't do anything over their subjects. At the same time ISA is actually nothing than just a mere act. I mean it. ISA is a dwarf in size compare to the whole iron curtain environment of Soviet Union tough Law prior to 1990.

But where is Soviet Union now? So, stop blaming ISA. Malaysia government is surely stupid, no, dumb, if it dare to remove it. It is necessary, even for you, freedom fighters if you happen to be in power of the country someday. Anwar Ibrahim was in the government before and he knew it.

So if government can't be blamed, blame yourself as freedom fighters. You are a lame performer of the freedom of speech. You are weak. So weak that after 50 years, you cannot remove the sense of complacency from the mind of Malaysian majority. Good fighters see no barrier at all. Mighty empire of Soviet Union has long gone. Draconian Aparthied System of South Africa gone too. These were the work of good fighters. And you here, grumbling over ISA all the time.

But that is, if you want to topple the government of the day. Hindraf? no, I don't think so. They are just testers. And they are testing the water under “Mr Nice Guy” Pak Lah.

Before that, 21 years under “Mr Tough Guy” Tun Dr Mahathir, not a single testing even necessary; the “PH” level was well known to them.

I don't know, but a malay proverb “kucing tada, tikus maharaja lela la” seems makes sense at all.

The question is, why does Hindraf did the testing?

I mean, generally Malaysian Indians are obedient and quiet people (I mean in the eye of law, not in kedai kopi which I am sure they aren't) for so long as I can remember.

Why, Datuk Seri Samy Vellu? (nice hair aaa datuk...) For 50 years we accept the fact that Malaysia practices communal politics. Meaning, each political parties are destined to take care of their own community. Therefore when Indians are expressing their widespread disarray, their very representative should take all the blame. It's MIC who fail, not UMNO.

Looking back, if Hindraf was really intended to convey the plight of Indian people in Malaysia, they are actually successful in doing that. For example, shortly after Hindraf leaders being detained, PM Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi held a meeting with 13 Indian NGO and was expressing the government willingness to address highlighted Indians issues and problems after the meeting.

Or, maybe those in Kamunting prison now really are the catalyst in bringing Indian people to government attention, as what Bruno Manser did in promoting Penan of Sarawak to the government and international community sometime ago.

Thats what losers say when their are dying, and in a state of despair.

If someone dead, he can't never become the future. He belong to the past, not future.

Hindraf history is definitely the shortest among those.
