Yoga again. And Pak Lah now talks about yoga without spiritual elements. So all muslims that practice yoga should do away spiritual elements.

So what's the yoga for? Healthy exercise?

Better do skipping, jogging, or, play football lor.... why just sitting down and do nothing...

Yoga is always about being healthy, mentally and physically. It involves spiritual things and perception, yes. But please understand that by being spiritual, and at the same time being attached to any particular religions, are two different things.

Remember this "Cakar - Alam" man? He ISN'T a YOGI

YOUTUBE VIDEO [MALAYSIAN MAGIC MAN] ADDED, 28 NOV 2008

I don't wish to invoke my muslim friends feeling, anyhow. If their religious experts said yoga chants are blasphemous, then it's blasphemous.

But I understand yoga quite well. In my view, a true yoga is all about attaining certain level of awareness attainable deep inside us. It is about rediscovers your true self, as many gurus said - the true being. True means true, in whatever graspable word to describe it. And its still be the same even if you called using different names and terms. This is why in some parts of India, to differentiate between the way of sufi and the way of yogi can be very, very difficult.

But then, where goes all the chants? There are no magic chants actually. In fact, good yogi never talks about magic. Furthermore, magic in this modern world; you can imitate and recreate them, using appropriate technology. We aren't living in medieval age; where even to survive should be considered as magic. Today, technology is actually a magic on its own.

Remember this man that many Malaysians refer as an "ustaz"? He had been publicized in national TV several times. One that my friend remember was in "Asia Hebat" slot. But in the eyes of some Japanese, he is just a liar! They even claimed that he just uses simple magic tricks to earn a living.

...Great video guys!

Back to yoga. Whatever chants involved in any sessions, in reality it isn't about worshiping really; but to create rythm, momentum, and pace that helps to attain a certain point of awareness within you after some period of time.

In this sense, you can be a Christian, a Muslim, a Jew; and still strongly attached to your religion while at the same time, you become a serious yogi.

Muslims can on condition (Daily Express) Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi lent his voice to the row over a ban on yoga for Muslims, saying they could practise the exercise as long as it had no spiritual elements.

Malaysia's highest Islamic body, the National Fatwa Council, had on Saturday banned yoga for Muslims, saying it was Haram or against Islamic teachings and could erode their faith.

But the decision triggered uproar from moderate Muslims and from the Rulers who are considered the guardians of Islam in the country and are demanding that they consider the issue before it is banned.

"I wish to state that a physical regime with no elements of worship can continue, meaning, it is not banned. I believe that Muslims are not easily swayed into polytheism," the Prime Minister said.

He urged all quarters to understand the content of the yoga Fatwa and not twist facts which could cause confusion among the public.

At the same time, he said, non-Muslims should not feel hurt or slighted by the announcement of the yoga fatwa as it was only applicable to Muslims.

Abdullah said Muslims who performed yoga exercise without chanting Hindu mantras could carry on with their activity as it was good for their health.

The problem is whenever Malaysia passes some idiotic fatwa Bruneians follow suit (because they can't think I presume) I don't understand at all what the issue is at heart. The thing is this, haram halal is made by man not God. It is man's so-called job to interpret Gods' words, my question is this, how the hell do they know that they're right?
