"Do the numbers really matter? He already has the ‘licence’ to contest,” said one of his aides in reply to Khairy being the last of the three contestants to Umno youth top post.

I would say; YES, it matters. Being 'corot' means 'uncit' no matter what. Afterall, only one of them will be selected to the top position. For now, KJ is uncit, and this is enough to damage his long nose temporarily.

Khairy lags in third position

KUALA LUMPUR (TheStar): Khairy Jamaluddin, once seen as the favourite for Umno Youth chief post, is now lagging in third place.

The Rembau MP did not receive any nomination yesterday and is stuck on 50 nominations.

As the deputy Youth chief, Khairy is seen as the “natural” successor for the post being vacated by Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

However, Khairy, the son-in-law of the Prime Minister, is still in the running for the post as he has passed the 39 nominations eligibility mark.

Do the numbers really matter? He already has the ‘licence’ to contest,” said one of his aides.
