Two YBs failed to solve water woe

DESPITE numerous promises to solve the water problem in Sindumin town, the result is still zero. We have complained to the Water Department and they blamed it on the low pressure. We also brought it to attention of the engineer in Beaufort.

After 20 years, we continue to depend on rain water to a large extent. Pipes are available but minus water. In the event of drought, we resort to buying water or pumping it from the Mengalong river.

This is a newspaper-published article, concerning a plight of a Kadayan community in Sipitang, Sabah

Promise banyak kali (many times) by the outgoing YB Datuk Sapawi Ahmad and Sipitang's ex-MP Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob. What have they been doing all this while, we wonder.

Last year, a fire broke out and gutted the whole row of retail shops. There was no water from the hydrant to put it out.

We really envy our neighbors at Merapok (on the Sindumin-Lawas border). They have regular water supply and free gravity feed water supply.
