The news about Saiful medical report had prompted press statement from Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar. He was interviewed by Reuter and then published in many newspapers, including Wall Street Journal.



Nothing extraordinary about sodomy in the statement. But there is one. That is on what Syed Hamid said about the police and the authority.

Police should speed up investigation, he urged.

Authority should solve the case faster, he said.

And he said that on his capacity as Home Minister!

As Home Minister, he is actually the minister-in-charge of police. He is also the head of authority agent of the internal affairs in Malaysia, including to look after sodomy matters.

So, Syed Hamid was just pretending. There wasn't necessary for him to merely urged them to work faster in newspaper. He CAN speed up the case as of where and when he wants; he is the Home Minister of Malaysia.

Meanwhile, a copy of a medical report purportedly that of Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who accused Anwar of sodomy, has been posted on several websites.

"I always believe that in any criminal investigation, the earlier you wrap up the better it would be," Syed Hamid told Reuters in an interview.
