Shahrir, work of this kind never being done by any Malaysian ministers in the past. Maybe got lah, but I don't remember.

Are cabinet ministers only concern on fuel price that they will follow up and down of the market trend like hell? If like this aaa, maybe after retire all of them can apply to work with Bursa Malaysia.

Malaysia's inflation rate now is 8.5%, so its already damage. Then if gomen want to correct it, it needs to spend extra money bah.

Gomen can try to forecast the trend and anticipate the likelihood in near future. Then set the minimum or maximum price that is fixed for certain period.

For example put a new price level at RM2.30 per liter.

Market price up again, government pay; downward, government get little rebate.

Like that maaa, baru senang kerja. And you can stabilize CPI from further damage.

(nst) With the reduction, RON97's new price is RM2.45 per litre (from RM2.55) while RON92 will now be priced at RM2.30 per litre (from RM2.40).

On Aug 22, the pump price of petrol was reduced to RM2.55 from RM2.70 per litre (RON 97) and diesel to RM2.50 from RM2.58 per litre.

The government had announced on Aug 1 that pump prices would be adjusted according to world crude oil prices on the first day of each month, starting Sept 1.

A minimum subsidy of 30 sen a litre and a ceiling price of RM2.70 a litre for petrol had been fixed until at least the end of the year.

The government had cut crippling fuel subsidies on June 5, resulting in the petrol price rising from RM1.92 to RM2.70 per litre.

Meanwhile, Benama quoted economist Datuk Zainal Aznam Yusoff as saying that the government may lower the price of fuel by as much as 15 sen.
